ZONAMACO 2026

IN THE GALLERY at ZONAMACO 2026

February 4-8, 2026

For ZⓈONAMACO 2026, In The Gallery presents a focused photographic presentation featuring works by Jacob Gils, Lise Johansson, and Bastiaan Woudt. Bringing together three distinct yet complementary practices, the booth explores themes of perception, presence, and constructed realities within contemporary photography.

Jacob Gils presents works from his Movement series, in which layered photographic compositions collapse multiple moments into a single image, evoking ideas of time, memory, and gesture. His practice challenges the notion of the decisive moment, instead offering a fluid and immersive visual experience.

Lise Johansson’s meticulously staged photographs from her ongoing series Within Frames examine identity, surveillance, and psychological space. Through carefully constructed environments and restrained compositions, her work invites viewers to consider the tension between visibility and absence, control and vulnerability.

Completing the presentation, Bastiaan Woudt contributes a selection of his signature black-and-white photographs that distill the human figure and landscape into timeless, sculptural forms. Defined by strong contrasts, subtle textures, and an economy of means, Woudt’s work creates moments of stillness and introspection that resonate across the booth.

Together, these artists offer a cohesive and contemplative presentation that reflects on contemporary modes of seeing where movement, structure, and silence converge to shape our experience of the image.

January 23-25, 2026

We are delighted to announce IN THE GALLERY’s participation in Art Singapore 2026, ART SG is the leading global contemporary art fair in Southeast Asia. The fair launched in 2023 and features a stellar line-up of international and regional art galleries.

IN THE GALLERY is pleased to present a solo booth by Danish artist Jacob Gils, showcasing key works from his acclaimed Portraits of Trees series. Gils is internationally recognized for his innovative photographic practice, which merges technical mastery with conceptual depth. Through his distinctive multi-exposure technique, he layers numerous images of the same subject, creating compositions that oscillate between abstraction and figuration. This visual language allows him to capture the essence of temporality, movement, and perception inviting viewers to experience nature as fluid, shifting, and alive.

In Portraits of Trees, Gils positions trees as powerful individual beings as well as symbols of resilience, fragility, and ecological urgency. The works reveal both the majesty and vulnerability of nature, subtly engaging with themes of climate change, environmental loss, and humankind’s complex relationship to the natural world.

PHOTO BASEL 2025

Art Miami 2024

PHOTO BASEL 2025 - BOOTH 6

This year at Photo Basel, we are proud to present a refined and thought-provoking selection of photographic works by Jacob Gils, Stephan Schnedler, and Lise Johansson — three artists whose practices offer powerful visual narratives and conceptual depth. Our presentation reflects a strong commitment to contemporary photography that merges craftsmanship, emotion, and innovation.

Jacob Gils (Denmark)

Jacob Gils is internationally recognized for his distinctive style that blurs the lines between photography and painting. He has exhibited widely across Europe, the US, and Asia, with works held in prominent private and institutional collections. Gils is best known for his series Movement and Limit To Your Love, which explore perception, memory, and temporality through layered, in-camera techniques.

At Photo Basel 2025, we present new and recent works from these celebrated series, including urban and nature scenes from Santa Monica, Palma, Frederiksdal, and Copenhagen. His use of Japanese Awagami paper and archival materials underscores his commitment to both traditional craftsmanship and experimental process.

Stephan Schnedler (Denmark)

Stephan Schnedler’s work occupies a quiet and poetic space between architecture, minimalism, and the psychological dimensions of interiority. His background in design and visual studies informs a meticulous approach to composition and light.

With Sand #2 (2024), Schnedler offers a cinematic and atmospheric meditation on solitude and space. His work has been shown in curated group exhibitions across Europe, and he continues to draw attention for his subtle but deeply resonant visual language.

Lise Johansson (Denmark)

Lise Johansson is an award-winning photographic artist whose work frequently explores themes of identity, isolation, and constructed realities. Known for her meticulous staging and use of surreal elements, Johansson’s photographs evoke a cinematic mood and emotional tension.

Within Frames #2 (2024) continues her exploration of domestic spaces and psychological landscapes. Johansson has exhibited in leading photography festivals and fairs, and her work is regularly featured in international publications and private collections.
