ABOUT

IN THE GALLERY is a contemporary art gallery with spaces in Copenhagen and Palma de Mallorca, dedicated to photography and camera-based art. Founded in Copenhagen in 2012, IN THE GALLERY occasionally widens its programme to include other media when the work speaks to photography in form or concept.

Our two spaces have grown into complementary identities. IN THE GALLERY Copenhagen stays rooted in the Nordic photography scene, presenting emerging and established artists from the region, with one artist from outside the Nordics invited to exhibit each year. IN THE GALLERY Palma centres on Danish photography with a broader international outlook, reflecting the international collector base we meet there, and regularly invites photographers from abroad to exhibit alongside our core roster.

Each year, IN THE GALLERY takes part in major international art fairs, building bridges between artists, collectors, and institutions worldwide. Our exhibition programme is shaped by in-house and visiting curators, with regular artist talks and opportunities for dialogue between artists and audience.

Our artists’ work has been shown in museums and private collections across Europe, including Fotografiska in Stockholm and the Royal Palace in Copenhagen, and has featured in major art fairs and high-profile collaborations worldwide.

IN THE GALLERY is a member of AIPAD, the Association of International Photography Art Dealers, and is part of Artsy, the world’s largest online art marketplace.
