The Architecture of Silence by Stephan Schnedler

The Architecture of Silence

November – December, 2025 – Copenhagen

At the heart of Stephan Schnedler’s exhibition “The Architecture of Silence” from his series “Unreal Reality” lies a quiet tension: the feeling of being between worlds. Each work captures that moment when reality feels both solid and uncertain, the same sensation we often experience in our own lives.

The architectural forms: corridors, staircases and open windows become metaphors for the psychological spaces we inhabit: transitions, expectations, possibilities, and absences. Schnedler’s spaces look tangible, yet they are built from fragile materials. This duality reflects the collector’s own sense of navigating between stability and change, the seen and the imagined.

Each image can be read as a personal landscape of introspection.

• The empty hallway becomes a metaphor for memory, a path between what once was and what is yet to come.

• The open window speaks of longing, curiosity, or escape.

• The play of shadow and light mirrors how we move between clarity and uncertainty in our own stories.

In this sense, Unreal Reality is not just about architecture, it’s about the architecture of emotion. Schnedler’s photographs invite us to project our own inner worlds onto these silent spaces. Every collector finds a different story within them: for one, a sense of peace and order; for another, solitude or anticipation.

What makes these works compelling for collectors is that they don’t tell you what to feel they give you space to feel yourself within them. They become meditative mirrors, reminding us that reality is often shaped more by perception and imagination than by the materials that construct it.

Owning a work from Unreal Reality is like owning a fragment of that delicate balance between illusion and truth, a still moment where imagination quietly reveals something deeply real.

DYSLEXIC THINKING – Lars Hartmann

DYSLEXIC THINKING - Lars Hartmann

Jun 15 – August 15, 2025

InTheGallery presents this summer Lars Hartmann, born 1972, dyslexic. Through his works, and the exhibition “Dyslexic Thinking” he shows us his experience of being confronted and excluded by inaccessible text. When the paper becomes part of the narrative and letters are replaced by voiceless nails, new dimensions open. Cracks, crevices, wrinkles, dents, and frayed edges make us sense that there are more to the stories than those written in black and white. A secret visual language untranslatable by Google’s AI.   Lars Hartmann lives in a world where letters form visual patterns instead of meaning and where paper is more interesting than words it holds.

PHOTO BASEL 2025 - BOOTH 6

This year at Photo Basel, we are proud to present a refined and thought-provoking selection of photographic works by Jacob Gils, Stephan Schnedler, and Lise Johansson — three artists whose practices offer powerful visual narratives and conceptual depth. Our presentation reflects a strong commitment to contemporary photography that merges craftsmanship, emotion, and innovation.

Jacob Gils (Denmark)

Jacob Gils is internationally recognized for his distinctive style that blurs the lines between photography and painting. He has exhibited widely across Europe, the US, and Asia, with works held in prominent private and institutional collections. Gils is best known for his series Movement and Limit To Your Love, which explore perception, memory, and temporality through layered, in-camera techniques.

At Photo Basel 2025, we present new and recent works from these celebrated series, including urban and nature scenes from Santa Monica, Palma, Frederiksdal, and Copenhagen. His use of Japanese Awagami paper and archival materials underscores his commitment to both traditional craftsmanship and experimental process.

Stephan Schnedler (Denmark)

Stephan Schnedler’s work occupies a quiet and poetic space between architecture, minimalism, and the psychological dimensions of interiority. His background in design and visual studies informs a meticulous approach to composition and light.

With Sand #2 (2024), Schnedler offers a cinematic and atmospheric meditation on solitude and space. His work has been shown in curated group exhibitions across Europe, and he continues to draw attention for his subtle but deeply resonant visual language.

Lise Johansson (Denmark)

Lise Johansson is an award-winning photographic artist whose work frequently explores themes of identity, isolation, and constructed realities. Known for her meticulous staging and use of surreal elements, Johansson’s photographs evoke a cinematic mood and emotional tension.

Within Frames #2 (2024) continues her exploration of domestic spaces and psychological landscapes. Johansson has exhibited in leading photography festivals and fairs, and her work is regularly featured in international publications and private collections.

ICONS- Group Show

ICONS

From May 1st to July 15th, 2025

We are delighted to welcome you to our gallery in Palma de Mallorca for a special exhibition celebrating the art of portraiture and the enduring power of cultural icons.

At the heart of the show is a striking series by acclaimed Danish photographer Søren Solkær, known for his cinematic style and ability to reveal the unique essence of his subjects. His portraits feature some of the most recognizable figures in music, film, and art, captured with both intensity and intimacy.

Complementing Solkær’s work is a powerful black-and-white portrait of Andy Warhol by legendary photographer Helmut Newton, offering a rare and personal glimpse into the man behind the pop art movement.

The exhibition also includes a dramatic and evocative photograph of David Bowie by celebrated photographer Markus Klinko, whose visionary style helped shape the visual identity of Bowie’s later career.

Together, these works invite viewers to explore the intersection of celebrity, identity, and artistry through the eyes of master photographers.
