Transfers of Memories – Group Show

Transfers of Memories

January – March,  2025 –  Copenhagen

“Transfers of Memory” is a compelling contemporary art exhibition curated by INTHEGALLERY, featuring works by prominent artists Jacob Gils, Lise Johansson, Sif Meincke, and Dan Laustsen. The show explores themes of memory, identity, and the ephemeral nature of existence through photography and camera-based art.

  • Jacob Gils: Known for his innovative use of photographic transfers, Gils works challenge the perception of landscapes and cities, blending realism with abstraction.
  • Lise Johansson: Her Absence series (2019–2023) and I’m not here #1 (2021) delve into introspection and the subtle, often unnoticed, spaces of life.
  • Sif Meincke: With works like You Can Sail Without Wind #8 and #10, Meincke captures poetic moments of stillness and transformation.
  • Dan Laustsen: Laustsen contributes with Memories #1 (2018), a striking large-format archival print, embodying the essence of cinematic storytelling and the emotional resonance of visual memory.

The exhibition runs from January to March 2025 and invites viewers to immerse themselves in an intimate exploration of memory’s role in shaping our perception of the world. With a mix of traditional and experimental approaches, “Transfers of Memory” celebrates the versatility of photography and its dialogue with other artistic mediums.
