INTHEGALLERY is a contemporary art gallery with spaces in Copenhagen and Palma de Mallorca, dedicated to showcasing emerging and established artists working predominantly with photography and camera-based art. Founded in Copenhagen in 2012, the gallery occasionally widens its curatorial scope to include artists working in other media, particularly when their work establishes an aesthetic or conceptual dialogue with photography.

Our two spaces have grown into complementary identities. Copenhagen stays rooted in the Nordic photography scene, presenting emerging and established artists from the region, with one artist from outside the Nordics invited to exhibit each year. Palma, meanwhile, centres on Danish photography while embracing a broader international outlook, reflecting the more international collector base we meet there, regularly inviting photographers from abroad to exhibit alongside our core roster.

As our headquarters and showroom, Copenhagen is also where INTHEGALLERY’s international outlook takes shape: we participate annually in major art fairs across Europe, the United States, Asia, and Australia, building bridges between artists, collectors, and institutions worldwide. Our exhibition programme is created by in-house and visiting curators, and we regularly host artist talks and other opportunities for dialogue between artists and audience.

Our artists’ work has been shown in museums and private collections across Europe, including Fotografiska in Stockholm and the Royal Palace in Copenhagen. It has also featured in major art fairs and high-profile collaborations worldwide.

INTHEGALLERY is a member of AIPAD, the Association of International Photography Art Dealers, and is also part of Artsy, the world’s largest online art marketplace.
