Canadian artist and photographer David Drebin (b. 1970) has made a name for himself with works that tap into the desires of the viewer.
His light filled and brightly coloured panoramic depictions of places such as Jerusalem and Central Park in New York make these iconic sites stand out as miniature worlds of fantasy and opportunity, and provide the viewer with a nearly infinite surface for the imagination.
His works have an opulent, cinematic feel, suggestive of narrative tension and drama. They often include the figure of the femme fatale pitted against spectacular or extravagant backdrops, seting the scene for epic storylines to be played out in the minds of the spectators.
Drebin graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York City in 1996. During the first decade of his career he created numerous images of celebrities and was commissioned for high profile advertising campaigns around the world. His works are in prominent collections around the world. He is based in New York
